Melbourne electronic duo SAATSUMA have released a captivating new tune, ‘Isolate’. The duo have also revealed that the track is the first snippet of their debut album, which will be unleashed later in 2017.
SAATSUMA is the collaborative project of Memphis Kelly and Cesar Rodrigues. The pair came together in late 2015 to form a project based around the smooth vocals of Kelly and the deep, synth-influenced production of Rodrigues.
‘Isolate’ is SAATSUMA at the top of their game; their trademark dynamic, Stranger Things reminiscent bass-lines with sampled and layered vocals that develops into a dance-floor banger, complimented perfectly by Kelly’s effortlessly melodic voice.
The synth jam is SAATSUMA’s third single, following on from ‘Storm’ and ‘Floating’, with the latter gaining the duo plenty of praise from radio broadcasters such as triple j, FBi and 3RRR.
Although SAATSUMA’s previous singles garnered lots of attention, ‘Isolate’ is the duo’s best work so far in their short but exciting career and will certainly add to the increasing hype around their forthcoming record.
Following the release of ‘Isolate’ and in anticipation of SAATSUMA’s debut album, the duo will be gathering their live band – consisting of Kelly and Rodrigues, as well as Maddy Kelly, Andrew Congues and Lachlan Stuckey – for a line of tour dates on the east coast.
